Head west of Praia da Pipa away from the main drag of hostels and restaurants, through tropical forest to towering the cliffs above Baía dos Golfinhos to watch dolphins frolicking in the turquoise blue waters bellow. Surf Praia do Amor

Whether you’re a beginner or an expert, head down to Praia do Amor, Pipa’s best surf beach, for an afternoon of surfing! Classes are offered, and surfboard rentals are available for about R$40/day.

Walk with the turtles at Praia do Madeiro

Follow the marked trails to Praia do Madeiro (also accessible from the Santúario Ecológico de Pipa), 1.5km west of Pipa town and watch the green sea turtles at high tide! This will surely be a highlight of any Brazilian vacation.

Located just over 80 kilometres from Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte state, Praia da Pipa is one of the Northeast’s most famous beach towns and is packed with loads of hostels, restaurants, and activities! Many of these are run by international ex-pats and the town attracts a very international and cosmopolitan crowd. Despite the influx of international and Brazilian tourists, the town itself remains small, surrounded by environmental protected areas that provide ample opportunity to enjoy the beautiful natural scenery and wildlife in the area.

There are loads of daily buses that run between Natal and Pipa, taking around 2 hours and costing about R$10. Arriving from the South, catch a bus to Goianinha (about an hour and a half south of João Pessoa) and then transfer to one of the many minibuses that run to Pipa (about 40 minutes, R$3). If you’re heading south from Pipa, Pipatour reserves bus seats onward from Goianinha for R$6. In the busy season, it’s advisable to book ahead as this is, after all, one of the Northeast’s hottest destinations.

Up there with Jericoacoara, Praia da Pipa is one of the Northeast’s hottest spots for great nightlife! From laid back bars and lounges to pumping clubs, this town has something to satisfy everyone’s tastes! As one of the Northeast’s Meccas for international travelers, you’re sure to meet a ton of people who are also looking to party long into the night! And since Praia da Pipa is still a small beach town, the bars and restaurants are only a short walk (or crawl) away from the hostels. So head to Praia da Pipa to play all day and party all night!

Tribus Bar

This is a great to start the night off with a few ice cold chopps, good music spun by resident DJs, and a fun international crowd. Head down here after a long day at the beach to wind down and get your night started off right!

Calangos

Open Friday to Sunday and holidays, this club has live Euro-style electronic, with some reggae and rock on Fridays and Saturdays and live Forró on Sundays. The range of music attracts quite a diverse and international crowd. Great place to meet other like-minded travelers.

Zion

With a great terrace, this place has live reggae on Fridays and Saturdays. A super chill place to relax in the evening breeze after a busy day kitesurfing or windsurfing, or simply working on your tan!
